Orthodontics
Nowadays, orthodontic techniques have evolved to avoid extractions of premolars, which are so important in smile. The diagnosis and treatment plan is based on the study of a low-radiation, high-resolution 3D CT.
Aligned and well positioned teeth are one of the keys to oral health and a beautiful and harmonious smile. With correct dental alignment there will be greater stability and distribution of masticatory forces, increasing the longevity of the teeth and avoiding changes in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Orthodontics will have the function of preventing and / or correcting malocclusions through the use of fixed or removable appliances.
This type of treatment is suitable for all age groups and the earlier the treatment, the easier it will be to move the bone bases to correct positions and the adaptation of the facial muscles.
Maxillofacial surgery, when indicated, provides an aesthetic harmony as well as stabilization of the patient’s musculoskeletal system. The orthodontics team accompanies the patient from the beginning of this treatment until the end of the treatment.
We do not use extra oral appliances or extractions of premolars

FACIAL ORTHOPEDICS
A large part of the population suffers from dento-facial disharmony, this means that the jaws may have altered proportions depending on the skull. These changes can cause pain in the temporomandibular joint and changes the dental positions.
The bony structures of the jaws are influenced by genetics and parafunctional habits such as finger sucking or pacifiers.
Dental Care Clinic Team uses more delicate and simple techniques and mechanisms, be they aesthetic as well as functional, thus avoiding extra-oral devices that are very uncomfortable for the patient. These techniques are age specific.

Cross bites can be the cause of asymmetries of the face, deformations in the growth of the jaws, as well as the development of temporomandibular disorders.
At this stage, these changes are very easy to correct allowing the harmony of the smile and the face and improving in most cases the respiratory capacity of the patient as well as the posture of the head.

Alterations in the development of the jaws are usually associated with an incorrect articulation between the upper and lower teeth. These malocclusions may be related to genetic factors, with parafunctional habits or due to oral breathing causing important changes such as open bite, crossbite or facial asymmetry. At this age and with simple devices we can easily correct these changes that, if they persist, will remain for life, often leading to associated health problems.

At this age, it is still possible with simple appliances to correct the development of the jaws, promoting the harmony of the face and the smile. There is currently no need for premolar extractions.

In the past, patients of this age group who had altered maxillary development would have to wait for their growth cessation – about 18 years – to undergo maxillofacial surgery.
Thanks to recently developed techniques we are able to correct disharmony of the jaws in most cases.

Misaligned teeth, regardless of age, are often associated with discomfort and embarrassment in the smile. This disharmony is often associated with low self-esteem.
As a general rule, a misaligned smile can be corrected with fixed orthodontics at any age.

ORTHODONTICS AND MAXILO-FACIAL SURGERY
In cases where there is a deformity of the face, the patient usually presents disproportion between the jaws, which can lead to alterations of the musculoskeletal system. Usually these deformations in which the upper or lower jaw is recessed or advanced (retrognatia / prognatia).
These changes in the development of the jaw or face are usually caused by hereditary factors, accidental or bad habits that lead to deformation of the face.
From pre-surgical preparation to post-surgical follow-up and completion, fixed orthodontics play a key role in providing harmony of the face as well as balance of muscles and joints.
